AUGUST 6, 2023 --- Jeep Van Wormer and his Iron Motorsports team made the trip to Merritt Speedway in Lake City, Michigan over the August 4-5 weekend for the 35th edition of the 'Ed Vanduinen Memorial Wood Tic.' On Friday night in the weekend opener, which shelled out a $5,000 first place prize, Jeep laid down the quickest lap in his group during the DIRTcar qualifying session prior to securing a heat race triumph. After rolling off from the inside of the second row in the 40-lap main event, Jeep raced hard all over the top five during the course of the contest. At the conclusion of caution-free affair, the Pinconning, Michigan standout found himself in the fifth spot behind only winner Chad Finley, Rusty Schlenk, Ryan Unzicker, and Dona Marcoullier.
At Merritt on Saturday evening, a whopping $35,000 payday was up for grabs in the grand finale of the 'Wood Tic' spectacular. Jeep placed fourth in his stacked heat race prior to claiming a victory in his B-Main. He then started the 75-lap headliner from the outside of the eighth row and was able to gain six positions to claim a respectable tenth place performance.
