MAY 14, 2023 --- The Iron Motorsports team invaded both Tri-City Motor Speedway in Auburn, Michigan and Merritt Speedway in Lake City, Michigan over the May 12-13 weekend for a pair of weekly Super Late Model shootouts - each of which shelled out a $1,700 first place prize. At Tri-City on Friday night, Jeep Van Wormer timed in third fastest in his group during the qualifying session prior to picking up a heat race triumph. After drawing the inside of the fourth row before the start of the A-Main, Jeep fought hard to create an outside lane around the one-groove racetrack and ultimately slipped back to an eleventh place effort.
On Saturday evening at Merritt, Jeep clicked off the quickest lap in his group during time trials and once again secured a heat race victory. The Pinconning, Michigan standout then rolled off from the outside of the fourth row in the headliner and worked his way past a couple of competitors en route to a solid sixth place performance behind only winner Brandon Thirlby, Ryan Lanphierd, Chad Finley, Eric Spangler, and Dona Marcoullier.
